The Sunshine Girls also made it through to the Netball World Cup Semi-Finals and will be playing for Bronze against New Zealand.

Jamaica's rich cultural heritage continues to inspire the world. BET Awards celebrated 50 Years of Hip-Hop in June and paid homage to Jamaican music and Artists of which the Hip-Hop genre was born from. Jamaican Artists such as Spice, Busta Rhymes, Skillibeng and Dexta Daps took the stage in celebration of Reggae and Dancehall music before Busta accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award from Swizz Beats.

The popularity of Jamaican cuisine continues to grow worldwide, with Chef Dom Taylor - The winner of Netflix’s 5 Star Kitchen, winning a 6-month residency at London’s Langham Hotel, making it the first and only 5* Caribbean infused restaurant located in the heart of central London. The ‘Good Front Room’ has quickly amped up a growing wait list for reservations and taking social media by storm with extremely positive reviews. On the topic of food, Jamaica Patty Co. Founder and Official Cultural Ambassador of Jamaica, Theresa Roberts, hosted a Meet & Greet at her Covent Garden store for the visit of Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness during his unofficial trip to London whom Maison Bent Founder, Shanna Bent had the honour of meeting.

These few of our favourite highlighted accomplishments stand as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Jamaican people and their determination to shape a brighter future. As the nation continues to march forward, guided by its rich heritage and vibrant culture, the world eagerly watches Jamaica's journey toward greater heights of success and prosperity.
